Street cleaning

The team at Great Yarmouth Services Ltd is responsible for the road sweeping and street cleansing operations throughout the borough. The service is statutory in nature and includes a schedule of planned works alongside ad-hoc requirements.

The service is to ensure a civic pride is created and maintained, and to safeguard the highest standard of cleanliness, safety and hygiene.

Street Scene Services include:

• the removal and disposal of litter, refuse, debris, leaves, vegetation, animal carcasses and bird excrement from roads, pavements, pedestrian and shopping areas, amenity areas, car parks and any other area within our remit
• the removal and disposal of windblown litter gathered in public areas, such as walls, fences, hedges and shrubs
• the mechanical sweeping of road channels throughout the borough
• the emptying of litter bins
