Overview of sports facilities
Many of the outdoor sports facilities are available for hire and below you can find details on how to book these and associated costs. It must be noted that football pitches and cricket pitches do have club fixtures associated with them.
Please note:
- concession tickets - are available for children of 16 years and under and persons of 65 years and over
- block bookings - possible negotiated fee available for a large number of bookings for bowling rinks, tennis courts and cricket pitches
- Bank holidays - usage of facilities will be charged at the Sunday rate (where applicable)

Football pitches - full size and mini
The pitches at Beaconsfield Recreation Ground, Wellesley Recreation Ground, Mill Lane Recreation Ground, Gorleston Recreation and Magdalen Recreation Grounds are available to hire on a seasonal basis for teams, for casual matches and training sessions.

Cricket pitches
The two cricket pitches at Beaconsfield Recreation Ground are available to hire for casual use as well as for Club League and Cup fixtures.

Bowling greens
The bowling greens on North Drive, Britannia Greens and Gorleston Cliffs are available for hire for both the general public and clubs. Equipment is also available for hire for those that need it.
The greens can be booked onsite through an attendant.

Athletic track and field
The Wellesley Recreation Ground is home to a superb track and field facility, which is available to hire for athletic meetings and can also be used on a casual basis.

Tennis courts
The six courts located along Gorleston's cliff top have recently reopened after undergoing a full scope of works, that included the resurfacing and refurbishment of the courts, new parameter fencing and the installation of a 'smart gate'.
The courts are available to hire for £7 per hour and can be booked online via https://www.lta.org.uk/book. Once your slot is booked you will be sent a unique PIN code which you will insert into the Smart gate to gain access to the court.
It is hoped in the long-term this new system will ensure maximum court usage, increase participation and support the sustainable operation and maintenance of the courts to a high standard.
Bure Park Pitch and Putting Course
Bure Park Pitch and Putting Course is an 18-hole course open to the general public from Easter to the end of October. It is part of a beautifully maintained 20-acre open space bordering the River Bure with a children's play area, lake with wildfowl, picnic seating area and is perfect for walking too.

Gorleston Cliff's putting course
A 9-hole putting green at the top of the cliffs in Gorleston-on-Sea open from May to September. See the attendant near the Bowling Greens to book and hire clubs. Contactless payment only, no cash.
